TeacherTube: The "education version" of YouTube.
Google Video: Not "geared toward" education like TeacherTube, but one of a number of other video hosting sites.
Vixy: online multi-platform flash video converter. They also have a desktop application version. Currently in beta form.
Tube TV (download for Macs 10.4+): Tube TV allows you to download movies from YouTube or TeacherTube to your computer in a video format.
YouTube Downloader
Embed videos into existing websites: There is still a link to whichever video hosting site you use (i.e., YouTube, TeacherTube, etc.), but you will not automatically be taken to the hosting website. Examples: school tour, the CNN bus

- Sharing projects with a large audience, including other classrooms or parents/family
- Quickly creating video newsletters for parents or students

Is YouTube blocked in your district?
It is unblocked for teachers and staff in our district (only recently) but students do not have access; however, teachers can request an unblock for students when needed for a particular lesson or project. |
